| Alas just as all hope was lost I have returned to you my xanga!!! No longer shall you weep for my loss and absence. My presence shall grace you once more...but quiet...company is coming. Hehe I have fun speaketh-ing sheer eliquence...as petruchio might say (Look up. If you have no clue who that is. I'll give you a hint. Ready? Shakespeare.)Reading plays and poetry is a bit challenging for most. But be persistant and it shall come. Jeff Baldwin (speaking of the complications of literature.) said "if you don't understand it...keep reading and it will come." Kinda of like putting christmas lights on a tree...you have to have a tree first...then locate the sparkling decorations and then decorate.Winston Churchill I believe was known best for saying but one thing to a group of well educated, intrigued, educated and vivacious college students..."Never never never give up." I might be paraphrasing a bit, but esscentially that is the implied messege. What I am saying is don't tumb your nose at classic liturature. Besides you will need to liturary examples on timed writings. And in order to use these examples one must be fimiliar with such writings and in order to be fimiliar you must READ. For the sack of sanity and classical educations I encourage all to read one book every two weeks ( I am being kind I was told one a week). This includes myself. I do believe I have challenged myself................ | | |
| Crazy fun summer!! I am back in town!! Halla!! I have finally found the time to find my power cord for my i-pod. I have been gone for amazing 4 weeks and as soon a I got back it was my b-day. I went to the beautiful rolling hills and mountians of Georgia, with my grandparents and my little cousin. I know that a lot of you peoples went to "The Call" in Nashville on 7-7-07. I wanted to go... but I was with y'all in spirit and God had other plans for me that day. So instead on 7-7-07, while I was in Georgia with my Cousin I really felt God pushing me to minister to her and begin to share his love. Well it so happened that I was reading the Screwtape letters by C.S lewis. We were at the shower house and she had to wait for me to finish getting a shower and she started reading my book and was kinda scared by the fact that hell was a real place. So when I got out of the shower she started asking me all these questions and I shared what Christ had done for so that we didn't have to face that when we died if we choose to trust in Jesus and she excepted Christ into her heart. After we had prayed she looked at me said, "That was easy." After that she had a true desire to know the scriptures and became more and more interested in the things that I was trying to impart to her. I think that so often as Christians we take forgranted how easy and prescious our salvation is. We often get this work ethic about us and we try and move through the motions, when it is tatolly not about us, it about him. If never ever did another thing we would still be loved by him. Then from Georgia my moma-son(or mother) and big brother picked me up and we headed for Michigan. We had loads and Loads of fun. We drove through Chatinnooga, Nashville, Louisville,Indianapolis and Chicago. I have never seen as many corn feilds as I did in Indiana; tons and tons of corn. Then we continued on up into the arm-pitt of Michigan and into Holland. Now at this point you are probably asking me why on earth was I in Michigan? Bethanne (Aunt Beth) one of the missionaries to Scotland was getting married and her family lives there and my mother was in the wedding. Beautiful Wedding!!! I'll post pictures when I get a chance. The reception was at a VERY VERY nice country club and Becca and I hi-jacked (we had permission from a member) a golf cart and went riding around in our formals. Good times Good times. From there I headed for worldviuew academy. For the BEST WEEK OF MY LIFE!!!!! (Worldveiwers know what I mean). I have huge book list! I have already started. I would have to say my favorite speaker was Brandon Booth one of his lectures almost had me crying. But my favorite lecture would have to be Logos 1 and 2 by Jay Winslow. Now if you don't know who these people are you'll have to come next year and find out. I have to say room mate made the week all the more awesome, shout -out to Kimboosha!! The location was so cool. Berry college was beautiful, the campuse was over 150 years old and it looked like a castle.(pictures are coming no worries!) Just the amount of information was incredible and then we had the opportunity to take that and go into Rome GA and witness. And God moved in amazing ways in not only my life but in alot of other students aswell. One other thing that made it even better was the ultimate Ultimate Frizz-B.(GO RED TEAM!!!!!) I might go next year just for that!JK! So over all God has blessed me so much this summer with, new friendships, strengthening of old ones, new information and tools, to witness the uion of one of my favoritist peoples in the world and my i-pod power cord. Summer not over yet! God bless ~KT~ 1 Tim 6:11 | | |
| I Got to see Alexis HAHAHA! (ABs?) If you people don't know Alexis you will have to meet her. She is the Bomb!!! I think I have known Alexis for 11 years. Her dad was the founder and senior pastor of two of the Every nation churches and because of these ministries she was taken from me, but know she is back for the week . So if you get a chance you have got to grab her at church while shes here. She is soo sweet, sooo kind- hearted. I got to have one of those experiences with my family, where I didn't know whether to be horrified by the cheesy mullet hair cuts or laugh my head off at all the polyestor bell bottomed pants. Can you guess what my family did?? We dug out pictures. My Aunt, cousin, mother, grandmother and myself, got into the stinky, smelly and moth ball covered pictures of every family member you can think of(Dead or Alive). I had the hilarious experience of facing photo evidence of all the family stories that were told. My mom did actually have 3 pairs of plad polyestor pants, my uncle really did bring horse in the house and had a mullet (hair cut not the fish), my aunt did look good in coke bottle glass, my grandfather did in fact eat ten pounds of crab claws and my grandma did indeed rock every single one of her grand children to sleep as well as herself in the process. OH and I sat in the middle of my birthday cake on my first birthday. The stories are true!!!! My grandma pulled her little treasure box out and we got to look at pictures of relatives that I had never seen. I saw pictures of family members that go as far back as third cousins and the great greats and I was just reminded of how God creates life and he takes it away. He in his sovereign power he creates and guides our steps from beginning to end. "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they can not fathom what God has done from beginning to end." ~Ecclesiastes 3:11 ~Katy | | |
| If you watch the news or watched the Republican debate round (more like 20 questions or never ending cross examination), but there is alot of controversy over things that were said between Rudy Giuliani and Ron Paul. But here are to links. I personally like Ron Paul a whole bunch. Ron Paul is a Constitutionalist and I personally agree with his views. For a man of such power and influence Rudy Gulianni should not have snapped the way he did. He should let Congressman Paul finish his answers. Secondly, Ron Paul never said that we caused 9/11 he said that we provoked the terrorists. We didn't cause 9/11, but by bombing them ten years prior does provoke some already prevellent hostil feelings. Watch this on first. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk334TbliaY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8oO_OD3PtI ~ Katy | | |
| Has Anybody read LORD OF THE FLIES?????? I keep asking people and nobody has. Does Anybody read the classics anymore??? UMK SO I gotta let this out...the book has all these wee little lads marooned on this Island (with a mountian) and they elect this one kid as leader. Well boda bing boda bang after the newness of the island is gone the sun burn begins to pound, heat sets in, the thought of another coconut makes you want to vomit. A few boys decide "WE WANT MEAT," so they kill pigs and begin hunting. So rumors spread that there is beast of some form that wants to kill them. Majority ruling in favor of "Just a rumor." But just because they said it doesn't exist doesn't make it so...They continue on with their normal routine lives of Eating cocanuts, skinny dipping and attempting to kill pigs. With threats of mutany (forgive the spelling) from the head of the hunters, life still continues, even though a few boys go missing suddenly. Finally the beast make his presences in a very graphic way(S)...........and ....it gets to.....compilcated for explianation. But I will admitt I had to stop reading my book at night because it gave me the Willies. BUT besides the fact of the HEBEE-JEBEES it is a relatively good book. | | |
